This is for people who are willing to remove the phrase 'I don't have time' from their vocabulary. Deep down you know it's bullshit.
The truth is that you have 168 hours at your disposal.
Like every week!
Rich people do.
Poor people do.
Presidents & CEOs.
In time we are all equal
So how to make the shift to full sovereignty in your relationship with time?
4 suggestions (+1 bonus):
1. Take Full Ownership
You are the one doing the choosing. Own it!
You choose to go to work each day because the benefits are greater than the drawbacks. If they weren't you wouldn't go.
If you are spending time with people you don't enjoy, you are probably too afraid to be honest. Quit ya bitchin'!
Stop blaming people & circumstances. If it isn't what you love then change it. Simple.
Once you know what is important to you, life gets a whole load easier. 20 minutes ago I was sitting on the bus feeling overwhelmed. In 48h I will be on a plane heading to Bali. I've got a week's worth of stuff to do before I go.
Aaaaaagggghhh!!! Poor little me...
Then I realised I don't have time to be overwhelmed. Writing this blog post is more important! Here we are, you and me.
3. Let Go
This last week I've dropped a lot of balls. Are you willing to let go of anything that isn't essential.
Remove items from your 'to do list'
4. Be Honest
Tell the truth.
eg "Thanks for asking. at this time I have higher priorities."
Yesterday someone thanked me for saying exactly that.
True friends will appreciate your honesty.
Understand that time management is a limited concept. Bean counting. Shuffling your marbles around a little bit...
Time Leadership is empowerment and boldness in action. It takes great courage and is the only way to live the life you really want.
Ok, back into the crazyness of packing...
PS if you want a hand with this stuff then drop me a line. I love helping people who want to use their time at highest value.
